Abstract:
Neuropathological, neurochemical and multimodal neuroimaging studies suggest that components of the central autonomic network are affected by the neurodegenerative changes of Alzheimer’s pathology in Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). Autonomic dysfunction causes episodic and chronic hypotension. Hypotension is implicated in dementia. Hence, clinical assessments of autonomic function in MCI may provide novel biomarkers indicative of early neurodegeneration,
