Abstract:
The complexity of modern communication networks
requires an autonomic approach, where elements
exhibit a degree of self-management which when
combined provide a level of self-management for
the network as a whole. The heterogeneity of
elements however prompts a knowledge driven
approach to their definition, composition and
management in order to address problems of
semantic interoperability. This paper proposes a
semantic service based approach to the definition
of elements in an autonomic network in order to
enable ontological reasoning in support of
composable self-management functions.
