Sugars, thiosugars and thiophenes

Abstract

This project was concerned with expanding and exploiting the proven medical potential of 4'-thionucleosides analogues (4'-TNAs), with the long term aim of providing improved treatments for viral, bacterial and cancer based diseases. To date, no general synthesis of this class of compounds has been reported restricting the range of new compounds that can be accessed.
