Carlow", and wrongly attributed to Lieutenant Daniel Grose (Grose confused it with another castle of the same name in Co. Carlow). This drawing depicts a view of the exterior of the twin drum-towers guarding the entrance to the 13th century castle at Ballylaghan or Ballylahan, County Mayo, Ireland, with a view through the gate to a series of two further arches beyond.'
