'This drawing is a copy of an original by Angelo Maria Bigari which is preserved in the NLI in the Austin Cooper Collection as 2122 TX (64). At the time of execution, it must have been in the collection of William Conyngham of Slane Castle, who must have lent it for copying to the Reverend Joseph Turner, who may have been the curate at Slane at that time. See the catalogue entry for 2122 TX (64) for further details about the original. The drawing depicts a view of the interior of the ruined Cistercian Abbey of Boyle, County Roscommon, Ireland, as seen from near the north-western end of the nave.' (www.nli.ie)Culture:
