The aim of the current study is to develop an effective variant of Emotion- focused Therapy (EFT) for Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), which can be delivered within the same time-frame as currently accepted, empirically supported treatments of GAD, which could, if shown to have promising results, be further validated in a randomized clinical trial (RCT). The aim is then to benchmark the results of the current study against the findings of other research studies which have investigated the efficacy of psychotherapeutic treatments of GAD. The study will also collect qualitative data on the outcomes of therapy as well as helpful and unhelpful aspects of the therapy process.
