    Description

    Inscribed lower centre:sketched on the spot. The drawing is from from the artist's sketchbook. "With its magnificent Hudson River view, the Mountain House was the hotel of choice for visitors from the year of its opening in 1826 until the early 1900s" Van Zandt (1966). It was a favourite haunt for painters of the Hudson River School.
