Abstract
Description
The moulding around the tomb slab suspected to be that of James Butler, 9th earl of Ormond. James died in London and was buried at St. Thoamas of Acre in that city, so this may be a cenotaph. Moulding, from top down comprises: quarter roll, half roll, chamfer, fillet, chamfer. The fillet represents the vertical face of the tomb slab while the bottom angle of the tomb slab is chamfered. The photographic image is from the Edwin Rae Collection and can be found here: http://hdl.handle.net/2262/25927
