Abstract

This paper uses two tests to examine the changing factor content of Irish trade between the mid-1950s and early 1970s. The results of the first test show that Ireland had a comparative advantage in primary goods over the period and developed advantages in labour intensive manufactured goods for which changes in Irish economic policies and those of its trading partners had some responsibility.
