Abstract
The objective of this thesis was the design, fabrication and optical investigation
of a novel type of one-dimensional photonic crystal structures for application in
integrated Silicon microphotonics. This thesis reports on new and unique optical
properties of the developed ultra-wide pass-band filters based on multi-component
photonic crystal model and thermo-, electro-tunable filters based on micro-cavity
photonic crystal resonator model.
