Abstract

Next generation Wireless Sensor Networks will operate as self-regulated ad hoc networks of tiny devices that sense, actuate and coniinunicate in a collaborative fashion. These networks will also be required to operate in an autonoinous and decentralised manner. Data distribution capabilities will facilitate the replication of data elements to multiple, disparate devices in the network. To achieve these goals, a communications infrastructure capable of efficiently scaling and reliably disseminating data to a (sub)set of consumer nodes in a wireless sensor network is required.
