Abstract
Description
Each panel signed with monogram and dated '98'. Beatrice Elvery attended the Dublin Metropolitan School of Art in 1896, where she studied sculpture under John Hughes, and drawing under Sir William Orpen. She won a number of scholarships while a student and after studying in Paris, she joined [An] Tur Gloine, Sarah Purser's Tower of Glass stained glass cooperative, before moving onto the Slade School in London. In 1912 she married Gordon Campbell, later Lord Glenavy, and returned to Dublin after the First World War to raise her three children. She was a regular exhibitor with the Royal Hibernian Academy between 1902 and 1969.
