    Description

    In this particular self-portrait, Barry shows himself in the act of sketching his own image, having faintly blocked in his hand in the bottom margin. The internal evidence of the drawings themselves indicate that he was right handed (the diagonal lines most frequently run from lower left to upper right), but in this instance he shows himself sketching with his left hand just as his image would appear in a mirror. An unedited record of his appearance, this drawing is executed with unrelenting honesty. - from the file
