Abstract
In hybrid self-employment people combine a wage job with self-employment. During the last years a growing number of studies and references related to the topic of hybrid self-employment have emerged. This article discusses the phenomenon of hybrid self-employment (hybrid entrepreneurship) from a labour market perspective, it reviews existing literature and refers finally to existing data provided by Eurostat. Public data suggest that the extent of hybrid self-employment in the labour market is comparatively small but the rates in different countries diverge significantly.
