    Description

    Marcus Beresford, the 1st Earl of Tyrone was married to Katherine, Baroness de la Poer. Astley also painted a portrait of Beresford's eldest son, George de la Poer Beresford, 1st Marquess of Waterford (8 January 1735?3 December 1800) who was an Irish politician [see image cgjc0185]. As well Astley painted a portrait of the 1st Earl's third son The Rt Revd and Hon. William Beresford, Archbishop of Tuam from 1794 to 1819 and who was created Baron Decies in 1812 [see image cgjc0186].
