    Description

    (Note from file) Portrait of a woman wearing plumed hat and fur trimmed cloak. Inscribed: Signed and dated on reverse, in paint, prior to relining (from photograph) : Charles C. Ingham/Painter/New York/1842/ Presented to the New York Gallery of Fine Arts by the artist. Presented with other pictures from that gallery, in 1858, to the New York Historical Society, New York. According to the Society's records, the painting was evidently of a larger size (91.44 cm x 73.66 cm)but was obviously reduced at the time of relining.
