    Signed and dated 'B. Bury/August/44-' (lower left) and inscribed '23.8...10-/height 13-' (lower right) and with further inscription 'Ly C.'s boudoir Charleville Castle//44.' (on the reverse). Lady Beaujolais Bury was the only daughter of Charles William Bury, the 2nd Earl of Charleville (1801-1851) and his wife Harriet Charlotte (nee Beaujolais) (d. 1848). The present watercolour depicts the Gothic revival castle created by her grandparents.
