Using Live and Real-Time Cases to Enhance Student Engagement and Learning in Strategic Management

Abstract

While case study remains the primary pedagogy for teaching strategic management due to the benefits it provides, there remain some shortcomings, limitations and potential problems with its use. This manuscript discusses two modified approaches to case studies – “live” and “real-time” cases which can help to overcome many of the problems associated with cases without diminishing the positive learning outcomes they provide.
