Shared Capitalism: Missing in Action

Abstract

There is a noticeable gap in the education of business students: the topic of employee ownership, which includes co-operatives1. Although there are between 7,000 and 10,000 employee-owned companies in the U. S., depending upon how they are counted, the topic does not appear in standard management textbooks, and appears only as special, elective courses in schools of business and management.
