    Description

    Fisher was a painter and engraver in Ireland, working after the Dutch and Italian landscape painting tradition. He is best known by engravings after his designs, of which a large number were produced during his career.[notes from Irish Paintings in the National Gallery of Ireland 2001] Depicted in the present illustration is the 15th century Abbey of Slane. The image is signed, Jon. Fisher, and dated.
