Description:
Fisher was a painter and engraver in Ireland, working after the Dutch and Italian landscape painting tradition. He is best known by engravings after his designs, of which a large number were produced during his career. [notes from Irish Paintings in the `National Gallery of Ireland?, 2001]The present image is a part of the Carlingford series and was later engraved by T. Vivares in 1772. The engraving was dedicated to Lord Hillsborough, who at that time was engaged in improvements to his seat, Hillsborough Castle. [note - Cynthia O'Connor]Role:
