By the Irish analysis of wages and profits, I mean that written by one of the Vice-Presidents of this society, in his lectures upon the distribution of wealth. I call it the Irish analysis, because it is written by an Irishman, and because in its order, and in some important conclusions to which it leads, it is wholly at variance with the English analysis. And I take this opportunity of noticing the peculiarities of both, feeling convinced that the merits of this Irish analysis have not as yet been appreciated generally, either in this country or in England, as they deserve.en
