Abstract:
It is commonly recognised that one of the most valuable institutions for encouraging prudence and self-denial amongst the poor is the system of Post Office Savings Banks, with its numerous offices open on every week-day for so many hours. The Post Office Savings Banks not only encourage the people in prudence and economy, but they are calculated to convey the soundest views as to the true principles of investment?a matter of the greatest importance at the present
time.
