dc.description | Following recent research impact and assessment trends, convinced by the need to support a greater diversity in career paths and profiles, grounded on the transdisciplinary Campus Engage Impact Framework for Engaged Research, on the Vitae Researcher Development Framework (RDF), and inspired by the four-module narrative format of R4R being widely adopted in the European research landscape, this Researcher Impact Framework (RIF) encourages researchers to connect scholarly activities and their impact indicators to scientific and societal outcomes, grouped in four impact areas: contributions to 1) knowledge generation; 2) the development of others and collaborations; 3) the research community; and 4) broader society or societal challenges.
This document stems from work developed by the authors as part of Trinity College Dublin’s Research Impact Pilot, pioneered by the Office of the Dean of Research, the Trinity Long Room Hub Arts and Humanities Research Institute, and the School of Medicine. | en |
dc.description.abstract | This Framework is intended to support researchers in identifying, recognising, and valuing the multiple activities of scholarly life. In it, scholarly activities and their outputs are aligned to their potential relevant societal outcomes and impact areas from the Résumé for Researchers, and tied to potential impact indicators to be used by researchers, all underpinned by HuMetricsHSS values.
Utilise this Framework to showcase a researcher’s broad spectrum of impacts using evidence-based narratives that are audience-specific. | en |
