Abstract:
In the following statement I wish to bring under review a number of statistics which I have arranged since the completion of the Census of 1881. These statistics are not altogether derived from the census reports, but are to some extent extracted from the other publications issued by the General Register Office of Ireland. The main features are founded on comparisons instituted between the years 1841 and 1881, as derived from the census enumerations of these periods.
