dc.description.abstractThis work focuses on coordination chemistry approaches for the preparation of novel nanoscopic Mn coordination clusters with unique molecular magnetic properties. The project involves the synthesis and structural characterisation of novel Mn-oxo clusters and novel Mn 1D and 2D polymers stabilised by either organo-phosphonate, -arsonate, dipicolinate, phosphonate-picolinate, phosphonate-dipicolinate or arsonate-dipicolinate ligands. The physicochemical properties of the novel synthesised compounds have also been investigated.
