dc.description.abstractThe aim of this work was to explore a number of different pathways for the synthesis of novel polyaromatic and heteroaromatic molecules. In particular, focus was directed towards the development of new preparative methods and the improvement of existing synthetic pathways for the synthesis of anthracenylporphyrins, triptycene scaffolds and subsequent triptycene-linked hexaporphyrin arrays.
