Abstract:
The current intense level of interest in regional development problems makes this an appropriate time to review certain aspects of Irish government strategy. The urgency of an appraisal is underlined by the fact that Irish regional policy measures have not prevented spatial disparities in social and economic welfare from increasing despite a wide ranging programme of assistance.
