dc.description.abstractThis is, I think, the first talk on our educational system that has been given here and so, before the statistics of the subject can be usefully considered, a sketch of the structure and history of the system would seem to be called for. Apart from the University institutions, which, although on the Department of Education Vote, are entirely self-administered, our education system, like Caesar's Gaul, is divided into three parts, primary, secondary and vocational.en
