Title: A Reaction Diffusion Model for Wireless Indoor Propagation

Abstract: The biological pattern formation system known as the reaction-diffusion mechanism is used as a base for a simulator which will predict the propagation of RF signals in an indoor environment. The reaction diffusion system was first conceived by Alan Turing as a possible mechanism for pattern formation in nature. This system lends itself easily to the propagation of waves in any medium and this dissertation shows how it was adapted to simulate electromagnetic wave propagation, simulating an 802.11b wireless network. The simulator is compared to empirical measurements from the environment where the test was run.
