Abstract:
The recent publication of Investment in Education, prepared under joint
Irish and O.E.C.D. auspices, has been an event of major importance in
Irish education. The members of the survey team would, I feel sure, be amongst the
first to acknowledge how necessary it is that there should be a full and
open discussion of their report in all its aspects by all the interests concerned,
if it is to be fruitful for the future of Irish education.
