Abstract:	The recommendations contained in this report are designed to ensure that taxpayers get better value for money from the €1.9 billion public pharmaceutical budget, but also that the cash paying patients benefits too. They are also designed to ensure that patients, irrespective of whether or not the State pays for the pharmaceutical, receive safe and effective pharmaceuticals without interruption to supply.
