Abstract:
Bills for the particular interest or benefit of individuals, public companies, corporations, parishes, cities, counties, or other localities, as distinguished from measures of public policy in which the whole community is interested, are treated in Parliament as “Private Bills” and their division into “Local and Personal Acts” was first introduced into
the Statute-Book in the year 1798.
