Abstract:	I desire in the present paper to give a short sketch of the several bills which were introduced into parliament in reference to the Irish land question, in order to compare the Act of 1870 with the attempts at previous legislation. I desire, also, to exhibit the practical working of the Act during the brief time it has been in operation.
