Title: Keeping the course at the 'Big Lep'
Author: Fitzgerald, Gerald (Irish draftsman and etcher, 1821-1886)

Description: 'Second son of Augustus Frederick 3rd Duke of Leinster; born on 6th January. He was an officer in the Scots Fuselier Guards from 1840 to 1846. As an amatuer draughtsman and etcher he was a member of the Junior Etching Club.' (Strickland's Dictionary of Irish Artists, pp 350-351) The present illustration is inscribed with the title and the following phrase beneath: 'Arrah now boys! Will ye stand back and leave the "gintlemen" room to fall into the ditch.'
