Abstract:
This study focuses on the themes of peacebuilding and civil society. It explores the role of secular and nationalist civil society organizations in peacebuilding at the local and political levels in Gaza. For over 20 years, Israeli-Palestinian negotiations have failed to achieve a just solution and settlement for Palestine. Furthermore, the international community has also been unsuccessful in responding positively to the Palestinian issue. Little attention has been given, however, to those local peacebuilding efforts in Gaza that strive to support human rights and just peace.
