Abstract:
In my first paper on the state of agriculture in
Ireland I ascribed that state to two sets of causes ? first, the legal
impediments to the free transfer and sale of land; and, secondly,
the legal impediments to the application of capital to agricultural
operations. I then proceeded to explain the nature and extent of
the first set of causes. I shall, in this paper, bring under your
notice part of the second set of causes, namely, the legal impediments
to the application of capital to agricultural operations.
