This study has a double focus, substantive and methodological. Substantively, it attempts to apply and test a fairly well known model of labour supply. From a methodological point of view, it shows how the Linear Probability Function (LPF) may be applied to the analysis of survey data. This technique is one of a family of multivanate methods which are being increasingly applied to the analysis of behaviour on the micro-level in a wide variety of social science disciplines economics, sociology, psychology, demography, etc.en
