A study of the social background of students in University College Dublin

Abstract

This paper forms part of a study undertaken to ascertain the social background of the students in the Irish universities, to assess the factors which determine their entry to the university and the influences at work in determining their choice of course. To collect information for the survey a questionnaire was issued to the first year full-time day students of all Faculties in University College, Dublin, for the session 1964-65.
