This picture was owned by George Howard, MP for East Cumberland from 1874 till 1885 and a trustee of the National Gallery, as well as a talented painter. He married Rosalind, daughter of Edward, 2nd Baron Stanley of Alderley whose wife, Henrietta Maria, was one of the founders of Girton College, Cambridge.Role:
