Title: A bibliographic review of Fagel pamphlets as presented in the online version of the TCD 1872 printed catalogue
Author: BYRNE, JOHN GABRIEL
Abstract: In 1962 E. Braches identified the following series of papamphlets, in 235 volumes, as being in the TCD Printed Catalogue:
Fag. H. 1. 1-93, Fag. H. 2. 1-89 and Fag. H. 3. 1-53.
H indicates the bay, 1,2,3 the shelf number and the ranges indicate the number of volumes.

The database used in the the online version of the 1872 Printed Catalogue, including the Supplement, has been searched for all these pamphlets.
The entries in each of the 235 volumes is listed in a file with nane equal to the shelfmark, e.g. Fag. H. 1. 13. There are 29 pamphlets which is listed in Appendix 1. One pamphlet has not been found. Each entry in the list consists of the pamphlet number and the header(the word under which the entry is listed in the printed catalogue), the title, the imprint, if any and the shelfmark or shelfmarks of the pamphlet as about half the pamphlets occur more than once, the page number of the entry in the printed catalogue and the no. of copies.

Unlocking the pamphlets of the Fagel Collection at Trinity College Dublin - A review of bibliographic resources to assist the investigation of probability theory and statistics

Title: Unlocking the pamphlets of the Fagel Collection at Trinity College Dublin - A review of bibliographic resources to assist the investigation of probability theory and statistics
Author: Middelkoop, Mary-Ann
Abstract: The purpose of this research project is to investigate the holdings of the Fagel Collection (TCD Library) given its origins as a working information resource for high-level officials of the States-General in the Dutch Republic.
The project is specifically aimed at:
1.	Unlocking the pamphlet collection of the Fagel library, to see:
2.	How contemporary knowledge of probability influenced the Fagel’s public role
3.	How the Fagel’s dealt with political and economic crises
4.	What we can learn from that in our tijdsgewricht
During the first stage of this research project the Research Assistant (RA) would review many of the pamphlets (eighteenth century), and produce an overview of some of the more important volumes on probability theory and statistics in the collection.
This report is a first outcome of this undertaking, and provides a bibliography of the books and articles on probability theory and statistics in the Fagel Collection of TCD Library, which can be found in the 1872 Printed Catalogue (Document 1), an overview of the available catalogues to investigate the pamphlets in the Fagel Collection (Document 2), descriptions of eighteenth century pamphlets, tracts, ordinances and lists with economic, political arithmetic and related subjects that can be found in volumes under lot 7593, 7594, 7596 of the Auction Catalogue (Document 3).
In addition to this an overview is offered of pamphlets related to annuities which are in the database The Early Modern Pamphlets Online (Document 4), as well as a bibliography on the primary and secondary sources related to Willem Jacob ‘s Gravesande (Document 5). The latter also provides an overview of the key literature on the history of probability and statistics. Finally a select bibliography on the Fagels and their library is provided (Document 6).
Together with these documents comes a digital document and ordner which contains the PDF files of pamphlets mentioned in this document (only those which have the sign ), The History of Statistics A Select Bibliography (2nd edition) by Peter M. Lee, several items of the secondary literature on Fagel, ‘s Gravesande and Kersseboom, and the Archival Guide of the Fagel Archives in the Dutch National Archive, The Hague.
